Decrepit vampire hunter Professor Abronsius (MacGowran) and his ineffectual assistant Alfred (Polanski) travel to a remote Transylvanian village in search of the undead. Soon after their arrival innkeeper Yoyneh Shagal (Alfie Bass) is attacked by the ghoulish Count Von Krolock (Ferdy Mayne), who then kidnaps Shagal's beautiful daughter Sarah (Tate).
